Mr. Putin is Shakespeare's King Richard III vs. Mr. Zelensky’s King Henry V and it is Mr. Zelensky that carries the overall moral advantage. More importantly, his courage and ability to inspire the Ukrainian citizen has made him the “warrior king” of modern times. Mr. Putin, on the other hand, is saddled with only his own perceived slights, and must manufacture unsubstantiated claims of past wrongs that ring hollow to his forces as well as to the broader audience of the world. His demonstrated lack of morality, as seen in earlier conflicts in Georgia, Chechnya and Syria , shows that he is beholden to no law, which results in an illogical campaign untethered with intent or means. Mr. Putin will lose in the end.
